I think I'm losing the knack of reading the cards. I haven't done it for so long. Over the summer I was reading for people two or three times a week, and I haven't even got them out of the box since we came back.

You know how sometimes you see something, and it answers a question you've had for ages? Like for the longest time I'd heard about Professor McGonagall and how she can transform into a cat, say. And Ver had told me a bunch of times what it looked like but it wasn't until I SAW her do it that I was like "oh!" And it made sense to me. People know what I'm talking about, right? How you can see something that makes stuff just... click, in your head?

Sometimes I wish I could be just like Verity in a few years. I mean... I don't know if I could cope with having a baby full time, but she has... she basically had nothing, and she built this life for her and Zoey from scratch, and they're happy, and I think she's super brave. She has the kind of strength most people can only dream about, and I really admire her for it.
